Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce the digital divide for all Africans, participate in the development of Africa, imrove internet penetration in Africa, and protect the environment by promoting the reue of electronic equipment.
The Africa Online difference
There are many not-for-profit organizations that provide computers to Africa.
The predominant model adopted by most of these organizations consists of donating computer equipments to schools.
The problem with such a model is that the population benefiting from these equipments is severely limited to the students of the receiving establishments such that the rest of the population does not have access to the computers and cannot take advantage of the services provided.
While we recognize the usefulness and the good that result from the typical model used by most NGOs that provide computers to the needy in Africa, we also recognize that there is a part of the population that will never benefit from these donated equipments.
We seek to complement this trend and fill the gap by targeting the whole population without discriminating against citizens on the basis of their social status, education, age, or sex.
We aim to serve all people equally and offer the same opportunities to all citizens.
We aim to give the gift of information to all. |

The Vision
Real change is possible when all people have access to information.
Our vision is to build and operate community centers throughout the African Continent where anyone can go and use the internet free of charge irrespective of their social status, education, age, or sex.
We wish to create better citizens in Africa by providing functional computers and high speed Internet connection so they too can have access to the largest repository of information available today: the Internet. Better citizens participate in their democracy and actively engage in the development of their countries and by extension, the world.
The technologies of the internet enable a host of services without which no real development is possible. The Internet allows governments to provide services to their citizens, enables trading of goods and services, eases the transfer of technologies, helps businesses and individuals establish a presence and connect to the world, and fosters technological innovations. nfo@AllAfricaOnline.org |
